Surplus fell to $38.98 billion in December from November's record of $40.1 billion, the General Administration of Customs said on Tuesday.

The surplus for all of 2008 reached a record $295.46 billion, up from $262.2 billion in 2007.

Exports fell 2.8 percent in December from a year earlier, while imports fell 21.3 percent, the customs administration said on its website www.customs.gov.cn

It was the second consecutive monthly decline in both exports and imports. Exports and imports dropped in November by 2.2 percent and 17.9 percent, respectively.

Economists had expected a $35.0 billion surplus based on a 4.0 percent fall in exports from a year earlier and a 20.0 percent drop in imports.It is time to call or contact your contacts in China and play lets make a deal.
